About P2P Vine

P2P Vine explains peer-to-peer technology from the connection up. In a peer-to-peer system, devices exchange data directly instead of routing everything through one company’s servers. That design powers file sharing, but also video calls, operating-system updates, backup and sync tools, and decentralised storage.

Each guide explains how a system finds peers, how it moves data, and what a direct connection reveals: in most P2P designs, the peers you connect to can see your public IP address. We describe those trade-offs plainly and the settings that change them.
