With the lone exception of AT&T in the US, ISPs in North America and Europe appear uninterested in filtering their content on behalf of specific industries, or in booting users after receiving unconfirmed reports of copyright infringement. The UK's Talk Talk is only the latest ISP to come out against playing the role of the content cop, with boss Charles Dunstone saying today that "our position is very clear. We are the conduit that gives users access to the Internet. We do not control the Internet, nor do we control what our users do on the Internet. I cannot forsee any circumstances in which we would voluntarily disconnect a customer's account on the basis of a third party alleging wrongdoing."
