www.slyck.com -  If you haven't been keeping up with the net neutrality debate, things were rather quiet up until October of this last year. That's not to say this lull reflected a lack of interest. Rather, the debate shifted gears and impacted the Internet population in a manner many can relate to: a widely used P2P protocol called BitTorrent.

In October of 2007, a study by the Associated Press confirmed the suspicions of Comcast customers, who believed their BitTorrent uploads were being throttled. Accusations of blocking BitTorrent were initially denied by Comcast. After the Associated Press study was published, Comcast clarified their position, and said that BitTorrent uploads were being “delayed” as a result of their network management policy. The culmination of grievances against Comcast resulted in a formal complaint to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) by Free Press and Public Knowledge.
